I. What is the basic principle of 4ox-v gas oxygen sensor?
4OX-V (4OXV) is an electrochemical oxygen sensor belonging to the CiTiceL series of City Technology under Honeywell, with product part number AAY80-390. It generates current through the electrochemical reaction of oxygen on the electrode, and then determines the oxygen concentration in the environment based on the magnitude of the current.
Step 1: Oxygen enters the sensor:
Oxygen in the environment enters the interior of the sensor through breathable holes and gas diffusion structures.
Step 2: Electrochemical reaction occurs:
Oxygen undergoes a reduction reaction at the working electrode, and a charge transfer process is formed between the electrodes through the electrolyte and external circuits.
Step 3: Generate current signal:
Generate a weak current related to oxygen concentration under specified working conditions.
Step 4: Calculate oxygen concentration:
The detection circuit measures the current and converts it into oxygen volume concentration, displaying the reading or triggering an alarm.
II. What devices is it usually used in?
1.Portable oxygen detector:
Monitoring personnel for oxygen deficiency or abnormal oxygen concentration in the work environment is suitable for industrial safety inspections.
2.Fixed gas monitoring system:
Continuously monitor factories, storage areas, or other places that require oxygen safety monitoring.
3.Closed space safety testing equipment:
Used for underground pipe galleries, sewage treatment areas, and other scenarios where there may be a risk of oxygen deficiency.
III. From the perspective of product application, the three most important points:
1.The output is a weak current, not a direct output of oxygen concentration. The device requires a suitable detection circuit to convert the current into a readable voltage or digital signal.
2.Do not block the ventilation holes during installation. Otherwise, the diffusion of oxygen will be obstructed, which will affect the response and measurement results.
3.When used for life safety, the overall performance of the machine must be verified. The manufacturer requires a target gas response test (bump test) to be conducted on the sensor or instrument before each use, and it cannot be assumed that the alarm function is normal solely based on the output of the sensor.
